A Proper Origin Story

I have recently been spending time cleaning up my closet where I store most of my Magic things (the rest are all over my room. I'm trying to get everything put away in the closet, but this is harder than it sounds when I have around 20,000 cards in need of organization. Around the time of my second or third FNM, I built a pretty interesting deck. I also put it in a deck box and wrote the deck list on a folded notecard which I used to separate the deck and the sideboard. I forgot all about this list and then a little while ago, I found the deck box with the list still inside.

Now, all of this started one time after the release of Dark Ascension. I got into playing competitively. My first deck was not great, but I didn't do too bad. I had mixed an intro pack with cards from boosters. Which intro pack? Well, this one of course!

Dark Ascension Intro Pack - Grave Power (G/U)

So here I was with little experience playing and several cards at my disposal (except I did not have playsets of dual lands or of good rares, etc.) so I built what I could and when I started, I could only bring in commons, uncommons, and the couple rares I pulled from a few packs. I did pull a couple planeswalkers and was given another, but here we go...

Honestly, I have no idea what 20 year old me was even thinking at the time... This makes absolutely no sense, and the order I wrote it on a notecard (I used the notecard as a deck/sideboard separator) makes no sense either. This has got to be the worst thrown together deck I've ever made.

I believe the goal was pretty much stay alive as long as possible and then put down Elbrus the Binding Blade and flip it to get Withengar Unbound. Or maybe I wanted to get Frost Titan or Ghoul Tree on the field.

Withengar Unbound  Frost Titan  Ghoultree

It may have just been the goal to put Garruk on the field too. I will say that I honestly have no clue, but I do remember ultimating Sorin Markov once.

Garruk, Primal Hunter  Sorin Markov

My best guess as to why I made this was because I thought it would be cool to be able to convert an entire deck from BUG to Bant and confuse my opponent who would not expect it. I do remember that Bant worked better, but that's about all I can remember about this deck.

By the way... I do not advise actually using this deck in Modern. You probably won't win. I didn't do very well this when it was Standard legal, so I doubt you could do well with this in Modern.
