Higher Level Articles

Starting in July, we will begin a new schedule for the publishing of articles on our site.

Every Sunday, our Artist of the Week post will be found. This allows us to continue with featuring the many artists of Magic while freeing up our Mondays to fit particular themes.

Every second Monday of each month, you will be able to find Modern decks here in our "Modern Mondays" series of articles along side any important news/announcements in the Magic world.

Every fourth Monday of each month, you will be able to find EDH decks here in our "Commander Mondays" series of articles alongside the normal Artist posts and any important news/announcements in the Magic world.

Every second Wednesday, we will continue our "Wacky Wednesdays" series with completely crazy decks that shouldn't work and do, or have some wild combo that just works.

Every Friday, thepidude's (Devin's) posts of "Fun Fact Fridays" will continue with random facts about Magic.

The week of a set's prerelease, we will run daily posts of set reviews starting with Sunday and running through Friday. This gives one day for each individual color and a day to handle multicolored/hybrid cards, artifacts, and land. Our goal is to prepare you enough with the latest cards to know something about the newest set before you step into a prerelease event that weekend.

During September of this year (2014), each Monday you will find two EDH decks built entirely out of Standard cards. These decks will feature the 10 multicolored gods of the Theros block. We'll kick off our "Commander Month" with Ephara and Athreos and on the fifth week, we'll end with Karametra and Kruphix (one Born of the Gods god and one Journey into Nyx god each Monday). The purpose of a "Commander Month" is show off EDH decks built entirely out of Standard cards (this is done in August/September because this is the only time we get 8 sets in Standard as July gives us the latest core set and October we rotate the previous year's block out of Standard). These decks are designed to promote the format and show newer players decks they can build using cards they are already familiar with and probably already have. Any important news will also be provided during this month, but the primary focus are EDH decks.

Additionally, during a single year, we will develop a new product/set for Magic that is 100% fan created, can't be purchased anywhere, and is just a cool thing we'd like to show off. This year we've been developing a Duel Deck that many of you may actually enjoy. It should be noted that we are actually designing and testing this "product" and this year was a bit of a rush job since we spent about 4 months working on it when Wizards of the Coast takes a couple years to design, test, and produce a new set/product. We're still finalizing things, so it will be a little while before you get to see this Duel Deck.
