Modern Monday: Mono Blue Merfolk

Around this time last year, I wrote an article on Modern Mono White Soldiers. That article was meant to be in a series of budget mono color Modern decks, a series I have as of yet not finished. I'll try not to take another three years to finish it, but this is the second installment of this series.

Since Soldiers are the iconic creature types of White, I considered the iconic type of Blue and we have Merfolk. Of course, Merfolk is an established deck, but let's look at a budget version.

Multiplayer Monday: Grixis Coin Flips

This deck idea has been on my dry erase board for months but probably longer.

I've been wanting to design a Planechase deck for some time and following the end of the Return to Ravnica Block, I found a couple cards that would make an interesting deck.

Ral Zarek  Tavern Swindler  Krark's Thumb

Originally I was thinking Modern, but it's not fast enough or powerful enough to be Modern competitive. Then I looked through the various Plane cards and I found where this deck could fit: Planechase

Oath of the Gatewatch Spoiler Week #2 Recap

Welcome back! After the second week of spoilers where all 184 cards were spoiled by the end, here is a look at some more of the cards from the set.

Inverter of Truth

Inverter of Truth

Inverter of Truth is definitely an interesting card. It's a 6/6 for four mana, has flying, and makes your graveyard your own library. This seems like a graveyard mechanic to feed Shadows over Innistrad, although it's a great endgame for Limited. Might even be the next Desecration Demon for Standard.

Oath of the Gatewatch Spoiler Week #1 Recap

Happy New Year to everyone and hopefully this year will lead to a relaunch of Monday Morning MTG. I've lost momentum and fallen away from writing but I hope to fix that starting with this topic. We'll cover some new cards, why they're important, and basically hit the ground running in this year.
